Ted Lasso was a huge hit show released on Apple TV. It was originally aired in August 2020 and wrapped up in May 2023. The series gained a lot of fans over its three great seasons. There are positives and negatives when a show only has three seasons. The benefits are Ted Lasso has three strong seasons of amazing television with a concise story. However, three seasons is pretty short and it will leave fans wanting more content. However, fans can be excited knowing Apple TV is already hinting at a Ted Lasso spin-off series after the success of the original show.

Jason Sudeikis, who plays the lead character Ted Lasso, was not secretive about the show only going three seasons. In March, he let fans know that Ted Lasso may only go three seasons. However, he did hint at a possible spin-off show and it appears Apple TV had a similar idea. The sports comedy-drama series had a lot of great moments throughout the series.
There was no shortage of laughs, heartfelt moments and action for fans of sports. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and television series are no different.
Ted Lasso was a great piece of modern television with a great fish-out-of-water story. Lasso’s journey as the leader of AFC Richmond appears to be over but the door is open for AFC Richmond and other characters to have more adventures.
Season three ended on May 31, 2023. There were 12 episodes in this season same as season two. The series maintained its strong fan base through the last season so what is there to look forward to in a spin-off series? A spin-off series could follow Roy Kent as he has a new position on the team. The other characters that still have more experiences and challenges to face are Coach Beard and Nate Shelly.
Ultimately, the series was a pleasant surprise and it gives Apple TV a solid entry in its catalog. It will be interesting to see if a Ted Lasso spin-off ever comes to fruition. However, it looks like there would be a market for a series if Apple TV decides to make the show.
