Think of this one as more of a live blog. If you’re reading this hours/days after the fact, I’m sure you’re smart enough to use your context clues to figure out what’s going on here. We’re minutes away from it being Thanksgiving and Anson Carter just proposed the worst trade ever on NHL TNT tonight.
The Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche are on right now. After the first period, the crew (tonight features Colby Armstrong, Anson Carter, Liam McHugh, and Paul Bissonnette) led the segment by talking about the Avs goalie issues. Anson then makes the weirdest pivot out of left field that nobody saw coming when he states that the Avs and Leafs should swap Mikko Rantanen for Mitch Marner.
Before I start you have to understand that this clip doesn’t really fully do it justice. We’re over halfway through the second period and the actual game broadcasters are still talking about it. Literally giggling like little school girls while the actual game is happening. The people who went on a dog walk during the intermission have no idea what’s going on right now if they’re watching the game.
This is what really happened. There is a good two minute segment talking about the goalie situation in Colorado. Which is an obvious storyline given that they entered the game dead last in SV% in the NHL. Georgiev is the opposite of whatever a bargoon is.
This man comes out of nowhere and just goes Marner for Rantanen like he’s a wack job who can’t focus on anything because they’re going through it.
A: This is some bipolar behavior right here. This man went into outer space and totally zoned out. Man was messing around on the trade machine online and couldn’t think about anything else. More than anything, I just hope that Anson is okay. When you pull some weirdo stuff like this, those are the type of moments when you check on that person. Dear, TNT crew, put your arm around Anson tonight with a few beers and let him know that you love him for me. Thanks.
B: Why would that Avs do that trade? Nothing more needs to be said. We’re talking about a Colorado team that has won a Stanley Cup where the team would trade the second or third best player on their team for a guy who everyone is killing for coming up short in the postseason. It makes no sense. Not to mention the fact that Rantanen is 6-foot-4, 216, and the reason why people question if Marner can do it in the playoffs is because of his size. I could write probably seven more paragraphs here but I think you get the point. It’s late and I’ve already written eight blogs today. No days off for Trey. Visit vendettafantasycontests.com as a way of giving thanks on Thanksgiving.
C: How exactly do you explain this trade to Nathan MacKinnon? Do me a favor. Get Nate Dawg on the broadcast at some point and tell him this ridiculous trade proposal. If Anson doesn’t have the stones to say it to Nate Dawg’s face, let’s just end the nonsense there.
D: I can’t tell if Anson is just trolling or not. If this is some 4D chess move to get Biz’s hopes up so that he can lead the charge to run Marner out of town; so that he can sign with Vegas on a discounted rate because of the no-state tax… we thank you for your services. Blink three times during the next intermission if that’s the case.
E: Shout out Biz. Hope you’re doing well. #employeeofthemonth. #ChineseFarmer.
