Alex Mack Will Play In Super Bowl 51 Despite Fractured Left Fibula

Falcons center Alex Mack is the most valuable member of the Falcons offensive line. Coming into the week Atlanta was concerned that Mack wouldn’t be able to play today but it appears he will give it a go today. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the severity of Mack’s injuries that he will be playing through which is a fractured left fibula.

This wouldn’t be the only player to play through an injury during the Super Bowl. How could we forget about Charles Woodson suiting up for the Packers with a fractured right fibula or Terrell Owens playing for the Eagles with a fractured fibula and torn ligaments in his ankle. Owens, in particular, was highly effective for the Eagles despite losing. Only time will tell if Mack will be able to play the entire game. He will likely have surgery following the conclusion of the game.

That isn’t the only concern for Falcons fans as Julio Jones isn’t 100 percent either.  Jones is likely to be in need of surgery on his toe during the offseason.
