Alabama running back Justice Haynes has entered the transfer portal, per On3.com. Haynes has spent two seasons at Alabama, joining the Tide as one of their top recruits under the Nick Saban era. He spent his first season in a reserve role behind Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams, rushing for 168 total yards and two touchdowns. Haynes saw a massive uptick in production under Kalen DeBoer, forming a solid one-two punch with Jam Miller. On 79 carries this season, Haynes rushed for 448 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns.
Justice Haynes will be an interesting name to watch in the transfer portal. He is certainly the top running back in the portal at this moment and will be looking for a more prominent role in an offense in 2025. I would expect Haynes to get a lot of looks from major P4 schools, such as Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Clemson, and many others. Haynes has a ton of tread left on those tires, as he only has 121 total touches in his collegiate career, meaning you could give him a workhorse load in 2025 and expect him to perform at a high level.
Alabama losing Justice Haynes will certainly have an impact, but I do like where their room still stands. They could keep Jam Miller one more year, and a duo of freshmen in Richard Young (four-star prospect) and Daniel Hill (four-star prospect). This also doesn’t include the commitment from the No. 2 RB prospect Akylin Dear. Haynes will be one of the most sought-after prospects in the portal, and I am very excited to see where he ends up.
