Since AJ Brown has been with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Eagles have a 4-2 record against the Cowboys. However, after the recent George Pickens trade, the Eagles’ wide receiver claims that they have to worry about the Cowboys now. Here’s what he had to say about the Dallas Cowboys acquiring George Pickens, quote provided by ProFootballTalk:
“I like that, I ain’t gonna lie,” Brown said. “We’re going to have to worry about them. For sure. I like the trade, I do like the trade. I like the competition, you know. I like George Pickens, I like CeeDee Lamb and they collab. It’s going to be exciting to watch because all that does is bring the best out of us. So, if we know how they’re coming, we are going to have to step it up.”
I’m sure Brown and the Eagles were more worried about the Washington Commanders after Jayden Daniels led them to the NFC Championship versus the Philadelphia Eagles, but now the Cowboys did get better with the Pickens trade.
Washington did go all in this off-season and acquired more talent like Leremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel, so they’re not to be forgotten either. While I don’t think Dallas is going to contend for the NFC East crown, they could be in the mix for an NFC Wildcard spot with the conference as weak as it is right now. They made key moves like the George Pickens trade to be able to make some noise in the NFC.
AJ Brown says he’s worried about the Cowboys, but he could just be being nice. The real worry is Daniels and the Washington Commanders. Daniels might be better than Jalen Hurts, but the sample size is small. The Eagles’ biggest threat is the Commanders and not the “This is our year!” Cowboys.
