AJ Brown continues to ruin his relationship with the Titans and Titans fans

AJ Brown is a 6’1” 226-pound NFL wide receiver. He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 draft. However, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles on draft night for the 18th and 101st overall picks.

Brown had a great three years with the Tennessee Titans. He had 52 receptions, 1,051 yards, and eight touchdowns in his rookie season. In addition, Brown then took the next step in his second year when he was named to his first pro bowl. He finished with 70 receptions, 1,075 yards, and 11 touchdowns. Unfortunately, he had a down third year where he only played 13 games. Brown ended with 63 receptions, 869 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

The trade was a big surprise on draft night as both sides did not seem due for an immediate split. However, the trade abruptly went through and Brown seemed to blame the Titans for not coming together on a deal. These harsh feelings have spilled over online. Moreover, some fans seem to resent Brown.

Brown tweeted a fact he learned about the weather forecast when a Titans fan responded with an insult. This promptly led AJ Brown to tweet,

Without a doubt, Brown made an extremely bold claim that he was the best wide receiver in their franchise history. Not only is this extremely debatable but it is a clear sign of the animosity Brown has towards the Titans.

Tennessee Titans’ top franchise wide receivers

The Houston Oilers relocated to Tennessee in 1997 and the team became known as the Titans in 1999.

Wide receiver Ernest Givens played for the Oilers from 1986 to 1994. He had two Oilers franchise records in receptions and yards. Givens had 542 receptions, 7,935 yards, and 46 touchdowns in his career with the Oilers. Also, he was a two-time pro bowler with the Oilers.

Derrick Mason was a wide receiver for the Titans from 1997 to 2004. He had 453 receptions, 6,114 yards, and 37 touchdowns. Furthermore, he was selected to two pro bowls and one first-team AP All-Pro.

Kendall Wright was a wide receiver for the Titans from 2012 to 2016. He had 280 receptions, 3,244 yards, and 18 touchdowns. These were three Titans with varying levels of success and greatness in the Titans franchise. Brown’s stats fall closer to Wright than the franchise records of Givens. Ultimately, there is not a real promising argument to be made to support A.J. Brown as the best Titans receiver. However, it is clear that Brown has negative feelings towards the Titans franchise and some Titans fans.
