Aidan Chiles Transfers To Michigan State
Jonathan Smith is making his impact felt on the Michigan State program right away after being named the new head coach. Smith is taking Aidan Chiles with him. The former Oregon State quarterback has decided to transfer to the Spartans.
247 Sports was the first to report the news. Chiles is on his way to Michigan State following his old coach with the Beavers.
This is a huge get for Michigan State. Before Smith’s arrival, they were bleeding in the transfer portal. A perfect example of this is Keon Coleman a year ago. Smith needs to keep players like that in the program and add to it. Chiles helps accomplish that goal. If anything, Chiles should only attract more talent. When you have the quarterback in place, the rest of the pieces start to follow.
Chiles, an LA native, will transfer to the heart of the Midwest. That’s a win for Smith who clearly got a kid to buy into his program. A kid that has talent too. In limited action last year, Chiles completed 68.6% of his throws and sported a 4 to 0 TD to INT ratio. Not to get overly carried away but it was pretty obvious that he was better than DJ Uiagalelei.
Chiles is also super athletic and can make plays with his legs. Something Michigan State hasn’t had at quarterback in a long time. Maybe ever. Connor Cook was the last productive quarterback the Spartans had and Chiles has the potential to be way better.
