After 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets. In an offseason full of twists and turns, Rodgers reminisced on his time with his former team and penned a farewell message.
Rodgers took his time after the blockbuster trade to thank the Green Bay organization for all it has given him. The University of California-Berkeley alumni led the Packers to one Super Bowl win and won four MVP trophies in his time with Green Bay.
“I’m not sure it’s possible to fully express the gratitude that I have to the Packers, our incredible fans, the state of Wisconsin, the thousands of players that I crossed paths with, the incredible men and women who work for the organization, and the amazing people who I got to meet along the way in one post with 10 pictures, but I hope you read this and feel my heart and soul, filled with love, joy, and peace about my time in green and gold,” Rodgers wrote on Instagram.
Rodgers would later go on to thank the members of the Packers coaching staff, trainers and more.
“This is not the end for us, I will see you again Green Bay. You’ll always have my heart,” he added.
With the end of all this drama, Rodgers has become one of the best quarterbacks Green Bay has ever had. As said before, Rodgers led the team to one Super Bowl win, earning Super Bowl MVP honors in that same game. He was selected 10 times to the Pro Bowl and was a four-time first team All-Pro during his time as a Packer. But now, the 39-year-old will take his talents to New York in hopes of winning another Super Bowl.
