Aaron Jones Signs With The Green Bay Packers

Aaron Jones has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers. The deal was worth $48 million over 4 years with a $13 million signing bonus. Adam Schefter was the first person to report it via Twitter.

Aaron Jones comes off an impressive year with the Packers in 2020. Not as good as his year in 2019 but still solid. He has 1,104 yards, 9 TDs, with 47 receptions for 355 yards. The 26-year-old stays with his old team with his solid resume thus far.

Aaron Jones agent, Drew Rosenhaus, says that “Aaron would have signed for more in free agency but wanted to stay in Green Bay.” That quote was also provided by Adam Schefter via Twitter.

Aaron Jones and the Green Bay Packers are looking to run it back with their trio of Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Jones in 2021 to try to make another run at a Super Bowl. Jones is probably good for another 1,000 yards rushing this season. Although, he did have a dip in touchdowns after having 16 in 2019, that won’t be too concerning with his fit with the Green Bay Packers.

With Jones only being 26, the Packers lock up their promising RB for another 4 years. At that time, he will be 30-years-old and that might be ample time to look for a younger RB if needed. His contract is still just outside the top 5 of the most expensive contracts for RBs. However, he is considered of being around that range of RBs in the NFL, so his contract is fitting.
