Marshawn Lynch is headed to the Raiders. After long speculation about his intentions to come out of retirement, he will take one more shot in the league and play for his hometown team.

NFL Network reporter Michael Silver has reported that Marshawn Lynch has agreed to a deal with the Oakland Raiders.

(UPDATE: 4/26/17) The Raiders and Seahawks finally agreed to a Lynch trade, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Marshawn Lynch will receive a two-year deal from the Raiders.

The reason why the restructured contract had to occur was because he was due $9 million in 2016. Seattle kept him on the reserved retirement list to this point. Lynch also will not have to fill out reinstatement papers as under NFL rules if he is traded it will be a clear indication he plans to play again.

Lynch, 30, is still technically a member of the Seattle Seahawks. The Raiders had the opportunity to restructure his contract after Seattle gave them permission to do so. It appears that it is only a matter of time until an eventual trade is worked out between the Raiders and Seahawks. It appears that the trade will likely include a late round draft pick to give Seattle some sort of compensation.

Lynch has made it clear he would only play for the Raiders. Beast Mode has an affinity for his hometown and wanted to return to his routes in Oakland.

He likely has some tread left on the tires as he is only a few years removed from a 1,306 rushing yard season in 2014. He also added a career high 13 touchdowns in 2014.
