Barry HBO Max Review
You know the deal by now with these posts. You’re looking for a show to binge but you want to know if it’s worth your time? That, of course, is what we’re here to talk about with Barry on HBO Max. The season finale was actually yesterday so it’s the perfect time to review this show. Let’s dive right into the review.
As always, I’ll try to limit the spoilers to the best of my ability. In the case of this show, I think I’ll be able to based on the twists and turns it takes. A trained killer gets into acting class. You can imagine that you’re in for a wild ride but it never takes you on the ride you quite expect.
The show is really well written. Some of the scenes become a trad ridiculous but it’s all for that ambiance. It’s never overdone and it actually feels semi realistic. It’s not designed to the point where it’s all sunshine and roses for everyone involved. Season one is by far the best but the story ties in so well down the line that you never lose interest.
Also, I’ve never really had a strong opinion on Bill Hader but his respect points go up for this show. It’s really creative definitely HBO quality. The cast is also really good too. You feel for all the things that go south for Sally. The love hate relationship for Gene is a rollercoaster but everyone will have a different opinion of him. The side characters aren’t necessarily an A but all chip in to make the show better.
I don’t think it’s the greatest show I’ve ever seen but I also think it’s really, really good. Highly recommend and have zero regrets about investing time into the show. That’s all you can really ask for. Easy to binge and highly entertaining. Violence with funny mixed in. Talk about a great combo!
