My fantasy team just suffered a huge blow. Texans wide receiver Will Fuller has been a fantasy darling of mine the past two seasons. Some weeks he does nothing. Some weeks he sits out because of injury. BUT… the weeks that Fuller blows up, he really blows up and probably wins you a couple of weeks by himself. Fuller was in the midst of one of the weeks before he tore his ACL on Thursday night in the win over the Dolphins.
Houston head coach Bill O’Brien confirmed the injury:

Fuller, 24, was on pace for the best season of his career. Through seven games, Fuller reeled in 32 catches for 503 yards and four touchdowns. He also is converting a 71.% percent catch rate on his target share thrown by Deshaun Watson. The Houston offense will have to find a replacement for Fuller because DeAndre Hopkins will certainly see more double teams. Fuller really took the top off the defense with his blazing speed.
Where will Houston look for a replacement? Keke Coutee is still recovering from a hamstring injury. Bruce Ellington is also out for the season. Vyncint Smith and Sammie Coates are the only other receivers on the roster. Maybe the Texans will look to sign Dez Bryant or Terrelle Pryor?
It’s also clear that Fuller has earned the reputation for being injury prone. The former first-round pick from Notre Dame has now missed 8 regular season games since he entered the league in 2016. That number will grow to 17 once this season ends. Houston is currently in first place in the AFC South with a record of 5-3. It’s an amazing turnaround after starting the season 0-3. They will have to finish the job without their speedy wide receiver.
