The Chicago Bears will not undergo a switch at quarterback despite the 0-2 start. It appears that the $45 million man Mike Glennon isn’t being removed from his job anytime soon. Following the 29-7 loss to the Bucs, head coach John Fox gave a statement that he frankly wasn’t ready to give up on Mike Glennon as his starting quarterback in favor of the rookie Mitchell Trubisky.
“No,” Fox said when asked about the likelihood of starting Trubisky in Week 3 versus Pittsburgh (Via ESPN). “I don’t think anybody … without even seeing the tape yet that you can pin that on the quarterback. Like I said earlier, everybody had their hand in that.”
Glennon finished that day with a stat line of 31-of-45 for 301 passing yards, one touchdown, two interceptions and one lost fumble. Glennon was facing a ton of internal pressure as well taking on the team that drafted him (Tampa Bay).
It’s also fair to say there’s no way that Mitchell Trubisky is ready for NFL action. You can read here why Trubisky has no chance of making it in the NFL. If the Bears are smart, they obviously know they can’t rush this thing and ruin Trubisky’s confidence before he’s ready.
