Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard has done a great job trying to overhaul this Colts roster. After a great first year rocking the draft, now Ballard still has a lot of work to do fixing the mistakes of the old regime, Ryan Grigson. The Colts held the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft but still needed to fix their roster. The good news is they found a sucker willing to trade up, the New York Jets.

Both teams have reported that the two parties have agreed on a trade involving multiple draft picks:

Obviously, the Jets are desperate for a quarterback. That’s no secret. However, it’s tough to predict who the Browns want at quarterback with the first overall pick. Also, the Giants are no easy pick as well. New York seems to be content with Eli Manning but that theory is obviously a bad one if the Giants are actually thinking along those lines. Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Rosen make up the coveted crop of quarterbacks.

New York has also been busy in the quarterback market. Teddy Bridgewater was signed to a one-year deal and reigning starter Josh McCown is also coming back. Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty are also on the roster for now.

The Colts had to make this move. Andrew Luck is one of the 5 best quarterbacks in the league. Getting him healthy is imperative so investing some of those picks into the offensive line is a wise plan. Considering the Colts are only moving down from 3 to 6, this move appears to be a home run for Indy. Bradley Chubb and Minkah Fitzpatrick will likely both be on the board at that point who I would consider can’t miss guys. It remains to be seen who the Colts will target in the second round but you have to think that 2019 second rounder will also be a very high selection in 2019.
