Arizona Coyotes Social Media Team Is Asking Fans Where They Should Move The Team

The Arizona Coyotes have been on quite the wild ride of late. Sparks of the franchise’s potential relocation have abound. Tempe, Arizona, residents voted against the Coyotes building a new arena in the city, leading to their social media team asking where the team should move to.

Following the voting announcement, Coyotes President and CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez released a statement on where the Coyotes stand.

“We are very disappointed Tempe voters did not approve Propositions 301, 302, and 303. As Tempe Mayor Corey Woods said, it was the best sports deal in Arizona history,” Gutierrez said, via a team press release.

“The Coyotes wish to thank everyone who supported our efforts and voted yes. So many community leaders stepped up and became our advocates and for that we are truly grateful. We also wish to thank the countless volunteers who worked so hard to try and make the Tempe Entertainment District a reality and the Tempe City Council for their support as well.

“While we wanted a different outcome, we remain grateful to all those who volunteered their time and talent. What is next for the franchise will be evaluated by our owners and the National Hockey League over the coming weeks.”

The Coyotes social team gave four options all near the Phoenix area: Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler and Gilbert. Phoenix was previously the home of the Coyotes before they changed to the Arizona Coyotes in the 2014-15 season. Conveniently, Scottsdale is already the home of the Coyotes practice rink, The Ice Den Scottsdale.

The odd idea about this poll is, why name all areas near Phoenix? If the Coyotes received the same sad love all throughout Arizona, why keep them in the state in the first place? They should/have to relocate to a different state if they want to keep their franchise alive.
