2026 FIFA World Cup Branding and Logo released
FIFA released the branding and logo for the 2026 World Cup during an unveiling event in Los Angeles Wednesday.
FIFA has gone with a more basic design for the logo, smacking the World Cup trophy on top of a vertical “26,” with the branding for “FIFA” just below the trophy. This logo seems to be following the recent trend of logos that mimic the outline of the World Cup trophy, including the logos for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
In comparison, the logo for the last World Cup held in the U.S. was much more intricate and included an American flag with a blue soccer ball flying through it.
FIFA purposefully chose a more basic design, aiming to have a logo that is simple and can be easily customized. There will be variations to the logo with each of the 16 host cities having its own color scheme. The basic design, however, will remain the same.
FIFA also announced the official slogan, “WE ARE 26,” along with the logo for the upcoming World Cup. According to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, this slogan is a rallying cry meant to unite all of North America.
“It’s a moment when three countries and an entire continent collectively say: ‘We are united as one to welcome the world and deliver the biggest, best and most inclusive FIFA World Cup ever.'”
Soccer celebrities such as the famous former Brazilian striker Ronaldo and U.S. Women’s National Team legends Carli Lloyd, Christen Press and Tobin Heath were present at the release of the 2026 FIFA World Cup branding and logo.
CONCACAF president and FIFA vice president Victor Montagliani, MLS commissioner Don Garber, U.S. Soccer Federation CEO J.T. Batson, Mexico Football Federation head Yon De Luisa and Canada Soccer Association interim president Charmaine Crooks were also in attendance. Former U.S. Men’s National Team player and current FOX soccer analyst Alexi Lalas and Telemundo host Ana Jurka served as hosts for the announcement.
Wednesday’s unveiling of the 2026 FIFA World Cup branding and logo served as an unofficial kickoff in the lead-up to the upcoming tournament. The announcement helps shift focus away from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and towards the next iteration of the World Cup in North America, which is roughly three years away.
