Braves Not Happy With Ronald Acuna Because He Won’t Wear Hat Straight

The Atlanta Braves currently have one of the best farm systems in all of baseball. That includes the best pure hitting prospect in all of the sport, Ronald Acuna. The 19-year-old Acuna has the potential to be the next face of the Braves franchise. Acuna’s potential is unreal sailing through three minor league levels in 2017. However, things aren’t sunshine and rainbows just yet for the young prospect. The team is apparently unhappy with just one minor detail.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the Braves would like Acuna to be more ‘Professional’ or whatever that means:

“The Braves want Acuna to wear his hat straight and maintain a professional appearance while in uniform. But they do not want to change much about the fun-loving, flamboyant approach that has made him one of the game’s most exciting young players.”

A straight hat? Are you kidding me? That’s what you’re worried about, Atlanta? Dear, Braves, have you ever watched Fernando Rodney pitch? He’s never worn his hat straight. Who cares? Part of the problem with modern day baseball is they fail to conform to the younger generation. Rich, white, old dudes absolutely are not helping the sport either.

Former Braves star Andruw Jones also had a sit down with the Braves young budding star:

“Cocky is a good thing. But respecting the game is also very important . . . The main thing he needs to remember is keep your head straight and respect [your surroundings] . . . Be humble, but a humble-cocky.”

Just remember, Atlanta, when it comes time to lock up Acuna long-term, you better be careful about keeping the young core happy. Things can get ugly quick, especially if Acuna isn’t on the major league roster to start the season because of something like this. Players can file a grievance against a team to reach free agency sooner. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
