Famed for his roles in The Wire and John Wick, actor Lance Reddick has passed away at age 60. This from his publicist Mia Hansen, who says the actor died of “natural causes” according to NBC News.
Reddick began his acting career in 1996 on shows like New York Undercover and Swift Justice. Moving through several other shows and films in minor roles. He really came into his own on HBO’s hit series The Wire. Which, while not a huge hit with consumers at first, still catapulted him into stardom.
Reddick found himself starring in multiple cop shows including Law and Order. But his next big hit would instead be on ABC’s Lost. He would continue to act on television until his death. His last role was in Disney+’s upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Reddick would find himself appearing in plenty of action films, including the John Wick franchise as Charon. A different direction from his crime and punishment roles in television. Reddick will appear in John Wick: Chapter 4, which is set to release next week. And Ballerina, a spin off set between the third and fourth installments of John Wick.
Reddick also appeared and voiced in several video games, most notably in Bungie’s Destiny series. But also starred in several other games including a John Wick title. While his catalog of games isn’t as long as his television or film career, it’s still something to consider.
Already fans and colleagues and expressing their sadness, fondness, and respect for Reddick. Including his co-star in the John Wick films Keanu Reeves. He is survived by his wife and two children.
