For months now, speculation on whether or not 2022’s game of the year would be getting any official expansions of DLCs was abound. Elden Ring is a smash hit that has brought FromSoftware Inc. even more praise and awards. But finally, FromSoftware has announced some official DLC for the game.
On Feb. 28, FromSoftware announced that Elden Ring’s first DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, was currently in development. There was no official release date listed, nor pretty much anything else besides that they were working on it.
There is currently no information on what is to come with this DLC. This lack of information has left a lot of room for interpretation as a result, ranging from more serious topics like content to the silly to things that, logically, should have been added in the first place.
We’ll just have to wait for FromSoftware to give us more information on Shadow of the Erdtree. Or perhaps wait for leakers to do that themselves. But until either of those things happen, fans will just have to keep speculating and theorizing about the future of this award-winning title.
Still, no matter how many or how few details are released about this Elden Ring DLC. Fan excitement has already begun to take off. And no matter how long it takes for them to put it out, FromSoftware will likely put out another work of art.
We’ll just have to wait and see is all.
