Pachuca showed its more mature side against Tigres

Pachuca

Pachuca beat Tigres as the visitors received their second loss in a row. Jennifer Hermoso and Charlyn Corral scored for Tuzas while Nancy Antonio did so for the Amazonians.

The stars shined

We were waiting for Jennifer Hermoso to see her make a difference not only in her team but in the league since her debut. Nonetheless, we had to wait more than seven months for it but it’s finally happening.

Hermoso was one of the players of the match, scoring a nice goal and finally showing the class she was well known for in Europe. She not only put her name on the score but also distributed the ball while acting as a false 9.

Charlyn Corral was very much alive, and we finally could see the partnership we were expecting with Hermoso. Not only she but every player in the team stepped up and did very well, each in her position.

A team effort

The marking of the always dangerous Lizbeth Ovalle was assigned to Yanín Madrid, and she did pretty well. Former Tigres Selene Cortés helped her in this regard and in that way, they minimized the damage she could’ve done.

And speaking of Alice Soto, she showed a good partnership with Hermoso and helped not only in the attack but also in defense, helping to close passing channels. Mexican national team coach Pedro López was at the stadium that night and he might have been pleased with what he saw from Pachuca’s young star.

It is noteworthy that center-back Janelly Farías is doing better while games pass by. Her departure from Club América was in a moment of her career when she wasn’t doing well in the field so it is nice to see her grinding back her way to the top in Pachuca.

Sadly, she had to leave the field before the end of the first half due to a muscle injury. Karen Díaz took her place and she did pretty well. No doubt she showed the coach she was ready to fight for the starting position.

Although other players went a little unnoticed, they contributed to the overall result. And this win is undoubtedly special since it was the second victory of Pachuca against Tigres in their entire history and what is more, at home.

The three points obtained on Monday put Pachuca in third place, only three points shy from Rayadas. América is following them pretty close, with only one point less. Positions in the table might change next Monday since both clubs will clash in a game nobody will want to miss.
