Jamal Crawford Secures Job at TNT as an NBA Analyst

Journeyman guard Jamal Crawford is once again going through a change of scenery. He is set to take over for Dwyane Wade on TNT’s Tuesday night NBA show. This includes the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, WNBA star Candance Parker, and the shows host, Adam Lefkoe.

This news comes after Dwyane Wade, who held the job for three years, announced he will not be returning. He wants to better focus on his part ownership with the Utah Jazz, leaving an empty position within the program.

Before, Crawford played 20 seasons in the NBA with 9 different teams, including the Bulls, Knicks, Warriors, Hawks, Trail Blazers, Clippers, Timberwolves, Suns, and Nets. He was able to rack up three 6th Man of the Year awards, and also 19,419 points to put him 49th on the all-time scoring list. He was one of the most well-liked and respected players in the league. Also, Crawford also always had a personality that seemed perfect for T.V.

Studio jobs within TNT are some of the most desirable positions for people trying to make a career as a sports analyst. TNT houses some of the biggest names in the NBA media, including Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Shaq, and of course, the host of the show, Ernie Johnson. This means Crawford has a real chance to solidify himself as a top analyst within the NBA world.

Crawford has no real experience in terms of being an analyst. But the experience and basketball knowledge he will bring are sure to be a huge asset for the TNT team. I personally can’t wait to see how he works with the rest of the crew. I especially can’t wait to see how he works with Shaquille O’Neal, who himself was quite the basketball player.

This probably serves as the most ideal position for Jamal Crawford as he attempts to make the very popular transition among retired NBA players to an analyst for TNT. Even Patrick Beverley recently signed a deal with Barstool Sports to start a podcast. We will have to see how he handles the adjustment of going from player to analyst. This is something not done very easily, and flat out just doesn’t work for some guys across all different sports.
