There’s been some major updates regarding released WWE wrestlers and their involvement in WWE 2K22. Some wrestlers were surprised they were left out of the game.
Several WWE superstars who got scanned to be in the WWE 2K22 game but were then released before the game came out were told to “expect something” later this year, reported by Fightful Selects’ Patreon. None of them were told straight up they would be getting paid but were told that instead. Mike Straw of SGO, reported earlier this year that WWE wanted to remove former wrestler Bray Wyatt from the game. Bray Wyatt was released in July of 2021, before the game came out.
AJ Francis, who was a member of Hit Row, said they were close to getting scanned in the game, reported by Fightful Selects’ Patreon. Francis was released before he could get scanned to be in the game. Regardless of being released or not, he wanted to be involved in the game. Many wrestlers who are in the WWE 2K22 game were not told that they would be in the game, but word got around and they heard about it.
It’s a shame to see WWE wrestlers get taken out of the game, especially Bray Wyatt, who was a fan favorite. There has also been footage of the game that showed former WWE referee blurred out.
Mike Chioda officiated for WWE for over 35 years, and they felt the need to blur him out. This is from the showcase mode in WWE 2K22. It is unfortunate that some WWE superstars won’t have one of their dreams come true by being in a video game.
