It has been quite an off-season for Tom Brady. First, there was the leaking of his retirement from guys like Adam Schefter and others, which at first turned out to not be true. Next came the actual retirement announcement from Brady himself. NFL fans rejoiced as the greatest of all time had finally called it quits, until he didn’t. With an NFL return set, many still wondered what would be left for Brady to do once he finally did decide to step away but step away for good? Now we know.
First reported by FOX Sports: NFL themselves, the 7-time Super Bowl champion will be transitioning to the booth, set to become the lead analyst for Fox Sports when his playing days are over. It seems to be a theme going on with big-name quarterbacks making the move to these big networks. The first big name, and arguably the best to make the move, in Tony Romo to commentary, recently it was Drew Brees as well among plenty of others. It will be fascinating to watch this transition take place.
Tom Brady set to join Fox Sports as a lead analyst doesn’t really paint a picture of when he will actually retire. Brady will turn 45 this August and it sounds like he has “unfinished business” which could mean we might be seeing Brady in the NFL for a number of years to come.
One thing to consider here is that, at times, Tom Brady can come off as cartoonish and somewhat awkward while trying to portray this cool guy, so from a viewership standpoint, I am not 100% sure how this is going to work out. But from an NFL knowledge standpoint, he should bring so much with him that he could do his own show just off what he knows. When the time comes, I know all NFL fans will tune in.
