Caleb Williams Is Transferring To USC

Caleb Williams is transferring to USC, and will be joining his Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley, per Pete Thamel.

After a year of quarterback controversy at Oklahoma, Williams is looking for a fresh start with his old head coach. 2021 was a year where with major controversy at Oklahoma, and it all revolved around who the starting signal caller would be. Williams started the season as the backup behind Spencer Rattler. Williams took over the starting job midway through the big rivalry game between the Sooners and Texas Longhorns, the team’s sixth game of the season. He entered the game trailing 17-35, and led a comeback to win 55-48. Williams had 212 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 88 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

Caleb Williams was named Second Team All-Big 12 this season, and he led the Oklahoma Sooners to the 2021 Alamo Bowl. Williams entered the transfer portal on January third, but a return to Oklahoma was in the cards. Now, he’s on his way to USC and our writer Garrett is very happy about it.

Williams finished the season with 1,912 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 64.5 percent of his passes in 11 games. He also averaged 9.1 yards per attempt. There are high hopes for the new era at USC. The Riley and Williams pairing was fairly successful at Oklahoma, and USC fans are hoping that success increases.
