Giants Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall Plans To Play In 2018

If you thought Brandon Marshall was ready to hang up the cleats after suffering a season-ending ankle injury, well, think again. Marshall is currently on injured reserve but that doesn’t mean we have seen the last of him. Marshall claims that he has no plans to retire after the 2017 season.

“I’m a competitor, and I don’t want to go out like that,” Marshall told ESPN this weekend. “I’m definitely not going out like that.”

Things haven’t gone well for the Giants frankly all season. In fact, Marshall was just one of four New York wide receivers that suffered an injury (Odell Beckham Jr, Sterling Sheppard, Dwayne Harris). New York hasn’t just been hit with the injury bug, they are also 0-5 to start the 2017 season. When Marshall does return for another season, his head coach Ben McAdoo may be on his way out.

Marshall already has his second career in front of him as a TV analyst on Inside The NFL. Marshall, 34, likely sticks around with the Giants so he can continue his TV career in New York as he did with the Jets before that. Marshall signed a two-year contract in the offseason with the Giants so he likely remains with the team if he comes back in 2018.
