‘The Blind Side’ is a movie that portrays the life of offensive tackle Michael Oher. Famous actress Sandra Bullock won an academy award for her work acting as Oher’s adoptive mother. The one problem with the movie is Oher hates the movie that is suppose to accurately portray his life. Oher recently shared his thoughts about the movie that was released in 2009.
“This stuff, calling me a bust, people saying if I can play or not … that has nothing to do with football. Oher Said per ESPN’s David Newton. It’s something else off the field. That’s why I don’t like that movie.”
“That’s taken away from my football,” Oher said of the film. “That’s why people criticize me. That’s why people look at me every single play.”
Oher was a key member of the Ravens Superbowl team back in 2012 serving as the right tackle. The weird thing about Oher’s career is he regressed the more experience he got in the pros. After receiving a 4 year, $20 million dollar extension last offseason from the Titans, Oher was released just one season later after looking like he was clueless often times last season. After inking a deal with the Panthers this offseason, Oher is looking to make himself relevant again on the field.
“Offensive linemen don’t get looked at,” Oher said. “Nobody is paying attention to the offensive line. But me? I’m getting watched for everything. I know what type of player I am. Everybody else that I know knows what type of player I am. So that kind of stuff doesn’t worry me.”
