Evan Fournier Inks Four-Year Deal Worth Up To $78 Million With Knicks

Free agent guard Evan Fournier has inked a four-year deal worth up to $78 million with the New York Knicks, as first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.

Well, the New York Knicks have had quite the opening to the 2021 NBA free agency circus. After inking key rotational players Nerlens Noel and Alec Burks to three-year deals, respectively, the Knicks went out and got some more scoring in Fournier. The Frenchman averaged 17.1 points per game last season for the Boston Celtics.

Reports Sunday night indicated that the Celtics were losing hope in re-signing the guard who has starred for France at the Olympics. The Knicks capitalized on the opportunity to sign Fournier, and when free agency kicked off at 6 p.m. ET, they have used their loads of cap space to bolster their roster. To possibly cap off the night, Leon Rose re-signed veteran point guard Derrick Rose to a three-year, $43 million deal, as first reported by Wojnarowski.

With Fournier now in the fold and Rose, Noel, and Burks all locked in contracts, the Knicks look primed to make a run during the 2022 NBA Playoffs. It’ll be interesting to see what other moves New York may make this offseason, but for now, this looks like a quality squad.
