Daniel Jones Must Succeed In 2021 If He Wants To Stay With The Giants

Gail Burton/Associated Press

Daniel Jones Has Everything He Needs To Be Successful In 2021

Daniel Jones was a surprise selection by the Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft, but the sixth overall pick has yet to live up to expectations. Playing in New York always carries lofty expectations, and although Jones has the arm strength and athleticism to be the starting QB for the Giants, he has yet to put it all together. He is also working to improve his ball security, as he has been a turnover machine during his time in the league thus far.

Jones has no excuses coming into the 2021 NFL season. The Giants may have the best offensive weapons in all of football, as they brought in Kenny Golladay to work alongside their young stud receivers Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard. The team can also utilize speedster Kadarius Toney, who they drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and Evan Engram, who has the talent to be an elite tight end once he solves his drop issues. As if that was too little, the team is also getting Saquon Barkley back from injury. To top it all off, the Giants also have a top-10 defense, and they should win the NFC East with their roster.

Giants Success Falls On Daniel Jones

It is no mystery that the quarterback position is the most important position on the field. We often see teams heavily rely on their quarterback just to keep them afloat, but Jones has a great team around him. He just needs to make the right plays and take care of the football. He has great skilled position players and a top running back in the league – other quarterbacks would love a chance at Jones’ position with the Giants. If Jones can limit his turnovers, he has the talent to be the QB of the Giants for years to come. Another turnover-riddled season in 2021, however, and Daniel Jones could find himself working as a backup QB elsewhere.
