Preview and Prediction for the Fake Boxing Match Between Ben Askren and Jake Paul

Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul is finally here. The fight will go down this Saturday, April 17^th, at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in Atlanta, GA. I am sure the fight will be just as much of a circus act as the buildup.

Askren, former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion of the world, is entering the boxing world after two straight losses in the UFC. Askren was most memorably knocked out in record time with a vicious knee from Jorge Masvidal at UFC 239. Jake Paul, who insists he is a professional boxer, comes in with a record of 2-0. His two victories came against AnEsonGib and Nate Robinson. Just for some context, AnEsonGib is a FIFA YouTuber, with no prior boxing experience. Nate Robinson, a long-time NBA vet, also had no professional fight experience.

For some reason, people seem to think there is no way that Jake Paul will lose this fight. Ben Askren is famously known as a terrible striker and gained glory in his MMA career through his Olympic-level wrestling. Regardless of this, Askren is without a doubt the best striker that Jake Paul will have faced in his “career” so far.

If you still think this is not a fake boxing match, the commentators should solidify this circus act. The boxing legends that will be calling the fight include, Mario Lopez, Taylor Hill, Pete Davidson, Charli D’Amelio, and Dixie D’Amelio. As you can see, the boxing experience on the panel is…non-existent.

Alright, so how will this fight shake out? In my opinion, I think Askren will catch Paul off guard by the number of punches he can absorb. I mean the dude got punched in the face for a living for twenty-one professional MMA fights. Eventually, Paul will gas out and Askren will land a few clean shots and put him down. Make no mistake, the fight will most likely be a horrendous display of boxing prowess, but I see Askren getting the victory via KO in this cruiserweight bout.
