Can The Cleveland Browns Make History Today?

The Cleveland Browns are finally back in the playoffs. However, there is no rest for the weary as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh. Heinz Field has not been kind to the Browns. Since 2004, Ben Roethlisberger’s first season, the Browns have never won there. Nevertheless, today is the day they breakthrough.

The Browns Have the Steelers at Their Most Vulnerable.

The Browns are dealing with a ton of adversity. Head coach Kevin Stefanski will not be on the sidelines as he tested positive for COVID. However, The Browns have been playing well as of late and the Steelers look very vulnerable. The Steelers limped through the end of the regular season and haven’t looked great since their undefeated season came to an end.

Albeit, they were in a prime position to secure the AFC North after November. However, their defense has had some big losses in Bud Dupree, Devin Bush, and Joe Haden, which has severely impacted them on that side of the ball. Big Ben and the offense hasn’t faired too well all season. I’m not so sure I believe they can wake up in time to deal with a scrappy team like the Browns.

The Cleveland Browns Must Play a Clean Game.

Baker Mayfield, the quarterback of the Browns, has been playing much better as of late and has really been growing up before our eyes. Remember last season when Baker and the Browns were underperforming to their talent? Now, even without Odell Beckham Jr., Baker has embraced just who he has to be. That is a smart QB that doesn’t make mistakes and leans on the run-game with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.

The Browns defense is nothing to make light of either. Although a big part of it in Oliver Vernon went down with a ruptured Achilles. They still have the ability to be a factor in this game. If the Browns want to get it done and come out of Pittsburgh with a win, they must play great defense and run the ball. This time they get the job done.
