Robinson Cano has been suspended for the entire season in 2021. This will be the second time in three years that Cano has been suspended due to a positive PED test. Back in 2018, he tested positive for a diuretic known as Lasix, which is used to mask banned substances. Which he served an 80 game suspension for in a crucial season for the Seattle Mariners. This time testing positive for Stanozolol. First reported by Jeff Passan of ESPN:

Cano, who has played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, and now the New York Mets. Throughout his 16 years in the MLB, Cano has been a three-time Gold Glove award winner, five-time silver slugger, has placed in MVP voting eight times, as well as being an all-star eight times. Also helping the Yankees win the 2009 World Series.

Cano was also the Rookie of the Year runner up in 2005 when he made his debut for the New York Yankees.

He has a career batting average of .303, on-base percentage of .352, slugging percentage of .492, and he has a total of 334 Homeruns.

Robbie will forfeit his $24 million dollar salary in the year 2021. He was traded to the Mets by the Mariners in December 2018 for top prospect Jarred Kelenic.

This will hurt the Mets as they expected him to play a huge role this next season. Although he does still have two years on his contract worth $48 million after signing that huge 10-year, $240 million dollar contract with the Mariners back in 2014. Which the Mariners still owe $7.5 million on.

With him nearing the age of 40 and his obviously not looking in the best of shape, could it be time for Cano to hang up the cleats?
