Rasmus Andersson Wants Vegas Because Landing Big Fish Matters

Players aren’t stupid. Well, maybe they don’t understand everything in terms of team-building, but they pay attention more than anyone wants to admit. There’s a reason why Rasmus Andersson is trying to strong-arm his way to Vegas. Players respect the culture of the Golden Knights, and it shows.

Land a big fish… others follow. Vegas is proving this. That’s how true contenders build gravitational pull. Andersson asking out shows players are watching how franchises operate, not just money.

Players don’t just want to win. They want to play for an organization that is totally committed to it. That’s Vegas. The identity is clear. Always advance, never retreat. That’s not just buy-in from the players. It’s also jealousy from rival players who also want in.

I alluded to this in a previous post, but I’ll say it again here. Don’t blame the player. Blame Craig Conroy for having bad forward-thinking. Andersson played the last handful of games for the Flames on a broken fibula only to miss the playoffs. Anderrsson stated he would be willing to stay. The Flames shopped him anyway. Now, Andersson is drawing a line in the sand.

Does anybody know what the Flames are trying to build? Andersson used to be D partners with Noah Hanifin. Do you really think he hasn’t talked to Hanifin about what Vegas is like? Keep in mind, nobody really got better this offseason except for Vegas. They were the only team that landed a blue-chip talent this offseason with Mitch Marner. Andersson just wants to make sure he’s next while being able to pocket more money with no-state tax.

Culture matters. Creating positive patterns matters. Players want Vegas because of the way they operate. Only uneducated people think they’re ruthless. It’s about creating a standard of excellence to chase winning, and players have noticed. As long as Andersson sticks to his guns and holds firm on what he wants, he will get his way. So will the VGK.

Landing big fish matters. The ripple effect that comes with it is never denied.
