Under Maintenance
We deeply apologize for interrupting your reading but Vendetta is currently undergoing some important maintenance! You may experience some layout shifts, slow loading times and dififculties in navigating.
The theme keeps appearing. Except this time, someone who is actually in charge of running one of these teams had the stones to do the right thing. Of course, it was Kelly McCrimmon. One of the few people in this industry who actually knows what he’s doing.
If you have been paying attention to this site over the last month, the theme has been exposing the liars in sports media. In terms of hockey, look no further than Elite Prospects scumbag Cam Robinson. He spread lies about Tomas Hertl, and then doubled down by recording himself shirtless while drunk. The worst part… the mainstream sports media let him off the hook (Yes, I’m looking at you, Jeff Marek, you should be ashamed of yourself).
It’s not just Cam Robinson. It’s several people, and McCrimmon had enough of the BS because, frankly, it’s dangerous for culture. There was no world where William Karlsson or Hertl was being traded.
During the Mitch Marner presser, McCrimmon called out the liars in the most poetic way possible.
“That wasn’t true. It just wasn’t true. It’s on that long list of things that have gone on the last month that had absolutely [no] credibility. It’s shameful, to be honest, that I’ve got a phone William Karlsson and say, ‘Carly, I’m sorry, you got to go through this s—. You’re not for trade. Tomas, relax, you’re not for trade.’ That’s ridiculous,” McCrimmon said. “We did the trade because we wanted the eighth year. They wanted the eighth year.”
Amen, Kelly. Amen.
I could keep going, but I’ll leave you with this.
Sports media is broken. The liars need to be exposed. The public should be given the receipts on whom they should and shouldn’t trust. End of story.
