Markel Bell: The Ultimate Sleeper For The 2026 NFL Draft

Markel Bell didn’t make my Way Too Early list for the 2026 NFL Draft, but he’s someone I wanted to spend some time on anyway. If you want to sound smart around your co-workers… just bring up Bell and the rest will take care of itself.

Bell, a senior, made a few starts last year, but Jalen Rivers mostly held the fort at left tackle last year. Francis Mauigoa has taken up a lot of the conversation when it comes to the draft, but he’s going to stick at right tackle this year. It’s Bell who is the projected full time starter at left tackle this year.

You can’t find Bell on any list. Nobody cares about this guy. Here’s why you should care.

A: He’s 6-foot-9, 350.

That wasn’t a typo. He’s actually that big.

B: Miami found him out of the JUCO ranks. He was the top offensive line prospect coming out of the JUCO ranks last year. Nobody knows who he is because he wasn’t at the FBS level until last year.

This is a Mario Cristobal guy to a t. Nobody has recruited better guys up front across the sport. Cristobal is still very much a meathead, but he knows offensive line play and he’s being developed with the right guy in mind.

We’ll see what we get during this upcoming year with Bell’s first year being a starter. Just don’t be surprised if he skyrockets up draft boards this year. Heed the warning.
