Per an official release from the Indiana Fever, star guard Caitlin Clark has suffered a left quad strain and will miss at least two weeks. It is not clear when she suffered the injury.
Through the first four games of the 2025 WNBA season, Clark is averaging 19 points, six rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game while shooting 40.3% from the field and 31.4% from three. She opened the season with a 20-10-10 triple-double in a win over the Chicago Sky. The Indiana Fever are 2-2 after recently falling to the defending champion New York Liberty in a close 90-88 loss.
Clark was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Last season, she was named to the All-WNBA First Team and received the WNBA Rookie of the Year award. She also set the WNBA single-season assists record with 337 assists.
The Indiana Fever will face off with the Washington Mystics (2-3) in Baltimore on Wednesday. The Fever have four other players averaging 10-plus points per game – Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard, Lexie Hull – but much of this production has leaned on Clark’s playmaking. Without their lead guard for at least two weeks, the team will need someone else to step up as a primary facilitator.
