Ron Slavin, Agent For Quinn Ewers, Blasts NFL For 2025 NFL Draft Slide

I guess I’m not the only one who thought it was ridiculous that Quinn Ewers fell to the 7th round of the 2025 NFL Draft. I had the Texas signal caller as QB3 in the 2025 NFL Draft, and 13 guys went ahead of him at the position. That includes the Raiders taking two guys from the FBS level ahead of him. Ewers’ agent, Ron Slavin, was not happy about it when given an explanation why he fell in the draft.

Todd Archer of ESPN.com put together a really nice article on their website. It takes a lot for me to say that because I despise what ESPN has become. Having said that, the link in the quote below gives a ton of behind-the-scenes access for what went down during Ewers’ NFL Draft journey. Slavin didn’t hold back either.

“They thought he was a third- or fourth-round pick, but too big of a name to be a clipboard holder,” Slavin told Archer. “Which I think is chickenshit.”

Should Quinn Ewers Have Stayed In College?

The guy is right. There is so much politics involved in this stuff. Oh, no, we can’t take Ewers too high or the fan base will start crying for him to take over as the starter! By the way, that’s exactly what happened despite the 7th round status. Tons of Dolphins fans are already clamoring for him to take over for Tua Tagovailoa. Time will tell what happens here, but Slavin is right, it’s totally outrageous he fell to the 7th round. People can complain about the slide Shedeur Sanders experienced… I’d argue this one was equally as bad, if not worse.
