Same vibes here with the Terron Armstead announcement. I know I’m way late with this one, but the clock was ticking in terms of getting the 2025 NFL Draft content done. Patrick Peterson announced his retirement with the Cardinals, and I wanted to make sure we paid our respects to one of the greats at the cornerback position.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news of Peterson retiring with Arizona:
Peterson, 34, made the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight seasons in the league and was part of the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade team. That right there should help illustrate just how good he was. Let’s just say the Cardinals got their money’s worth when they turned the card in for the LSU cornerback 5th overall during the 2011 NFL Draft.
Peterson was honored at a recent event held by the Cardinals. He had this to say about his NFL journey, where he hopes to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. At the end of things, Peterson ended up spending ten years with the Cardinals, two seasons with the Vikings, and one for the Steelers after being out of the league in 2024.
“Hopefully I did enough to put me where I want be at the end of my career, which is in Canton and football heaven,” Peterson said. “Arizona gave me that opportunity to do that, so it was only right to be able to retire a Cardinal.”
