The NHL Should Be Applauded For Airing The Draft Lottery Process

Everything the NHL does is just significantly better than the NBA. What the NHL did with the draft lottery is just another example in the never-ending list. What Gary Bettman, Bill Daly, and the rest of the league did with the lottery process this year should be applauded.

Yes, the Islanders got the number one overall pick, but it doesn’t have anything to do with that. It has everything to do with honesty and transparency. We have 100% proof that there was no lying or cheating involved in this process. Not only that, it was electric to watch. As you saw the possible combinations come in, the cooler this whole thing became.

The way this was televised was a smashing hit, and this formula needs to stay. Maybe some tweaks can be made, but the actual showing of the ping pong balls has to stay.

Again, it’s the opposite of everything the NBA stands for. They can say whatever they want, but we know they’re corrupt. The NBA would never do something this honest and transparent. I actually have a column on this from years ago. It’s so rigged, and you can’t hide the evidence. The post doesn’t even include the New Orleans debacle, where the league clearly gift-wrapped them Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson.

If I’m wrong, explain to me why the NBA won’t air the results live like the NHL just did this year? Corruption, that’s exactly why.
