Frank Seravalli Announces He’s Leaving Daily Faceoff

Over the last few years, Daily Faceoff has been one of the best content machines out there in terms of following the sport of hockey. That may no longer be the case in the near future as the company just took a dagger to the throat in terms of one of its most valuable assets. Lead reporter Frank Seravalli has announced that he’s leaving DFO on July 1st and becoming a free agent like many real-life players who will also do the same on that day.

“Personal news: My time at Daily Faceoff is winding down,” wrote Seravalli. “My decision. It’s been an incredible journey building a premier hockey media brand and I’m grateful for every second. Like many in hockey, I’m a free agent on July 1 and can’t wait to dig in on my next ventures. Stay tuned.”

Who knows what’s next for Seravalli? A bigger financial offer to maybe be the lead NHL reporter for ESPN seem like a strong possibility. ESPN has Adam Schefter for the NFL, Jeff Passan for MLB, and Shams Charania for the NBA. They really don’t have a guy like that for hockey, and Seravalli would obviously be the top get.

Another possibility would be maybe being the lead TNT reporter for their pre-game show. Other than that, it’s anyone’s best guess on what may happen with Frank.

Seravalli, 36, joined Daily Faceoff in 2021 after a six-year tenure as a Senior Hockey Reporter at TSN from 2016 to 2021. I have no idea how DFO replaces him, but good luck with that.
