After watching Johnathan Abram’s first game as a Raider against the Broncos last year, I was already excited about the Raiders’ second first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after watching his college tape. His one game last year was fantastic, then he got injured. I have anxiously waited for him to come back this season. When he did, he did not disappoint. His reputation as a hard-hitter was definitely on display against the Panthers. Johnathan Abram had multiple tackles where his hits were Earth-shattering. That is including one against the fantasy stud, Christian McCaffrey.

In only two career games, Abram’s already has 18 total tackles, including ten solo tackles. Nine of those solo tackles came from his game against the Panthers. It was clear the Raiders believed in Johnathan Abram by letting Karl Joseph walk in the offseason. They were both box safeties, and they only needed one. They made the right decision because Abram has already had a better game in his second game than Karl Joseph did in his entire career.
Johnathan Abram is a stud, I can see it. His potential is through the roof. He was everywhere on the field, and he was making people pay if they had the ball. If I wanted to be crazy, I could say he is the next best box safety like Jamal Adams. But for now, let’s say Johnathan Abram is going to be unique, and his potential is through the roof. One thing is for sure, Johnathan Abram is going to be a future piece of the Raiders, and I can’t wait to see more of him this season.
