Insert the Wolf of Wall Street meme here. Adin Hill isn’t going anywhere!
The Golden Knights starting goalie has agreed to a long term extension to stay in Vegas. Hill will sign a six-year extension that will carry an AAV of $6.25 that will kick in next season.
A presser on the Golden Knights team website revealed the news:
“VEGAS (March 14, 2025) – Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, March 14, that the team has signed goaltender Adin Hill to a six-year contract extension through the 2030-31 season worth an average annual value of $6,250,000.”
Hill, 28, is 24-11-4 while posting a 2.53 GAA, .906 save percentage over a career-high 39 starts. That number is going to be even higher with a good chunk of games remaining this season. Of course, Hill earned his first extension with the Knights after an insane Stanley Cup run where he notched a 2.09 GAA and .932. Since that time, Hill has been the unquestioned starter in Vegas.
If you’re wondering about the timing of this deal, don’t. Given how the season has gone, it’s not really surprising that this occurred. If you read my post from the other day, you’re quite aware that backup Ilya Samsonov has been close to unplayable. Moving towards Samsonov next year just wasn’t an option and the number of options on the free agent market next year was incredibly barren.
