The revisionist history that people try to do with Hitler is insane but the UFC has to deal with it. One of their fighters, Bryce Mitchell, is apparently part of the pro-Hitler fan club. Somehow that exists…
Mitchell said a bunch of crazy stuff about how he loves Hitler. Dana White stepped up to the plate and responded accordingly.
“I’ve heard a lot of dumb, ignorant s–t in my day, but this one’s probably the worst,” White said on Thursday during a press conference in Saudi Arabia for a Power Slap event. “… Hitler is one of the most disgusting and evil human beings to ever walk the face of the earth. And anyone who even tries to take an opposing position is a moron. That’s the problem with the internet and social media — you provide a platform for a lot of dumb, ignorant people.”
“We’ve obviously reached out to Bryce when we read what he said and let him know how we feel about it,” White said. “We’re beyond disgusted.”
“It’s free speech,” White said. “I don’t have to love it, you don’t have to love it. … That’s the beautiful thing about this business. For all of you that hate Bryce Mitchell, you get to see him hopefully get his ass whooped on global television.”
I feel like we already know how the UFC is going to handle this. Say whatever you want about Dana White. The man is consistent in how he operates. They will just book him against guys that will beat him up. It will be a win-win for them. They get to cut Bryce and a few guys get fans for beating up the guy who likes Hitler. I’d be shocked if the UFC operates in any other way following this.
