Clippers acquire Bogdan Bogdanovic from Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks appear to be blowing it up! Atlanta traded Bogdan Bogdanovic plus three second-round picks to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Terance Mann and Bones Hyland, ESPN NBA insider first reported Thursday.

This comes not long after the Atlanta Hawks flipped De’Andre Hunter to Cleveland in exchange for Georges Niang and Caris LeVert (plus draft capital).

The Hawks will receive three second-round picks as part of the deal, according to The Athletic’s Law Murray. Those picks will be the Memphis Grizzlies’ 2026 second-round pick (top-42 protected), the Clippers’ own 2027 second-round pick plus Minnesota’s 2025 second.

Bogdanovic, 32, was having a down season with Atlanta. In 24 games, he’s averaging 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds with two assists on 37.1 percent shooting and 30.1 percent from distance on 6.1 3-point attempts per game. In his previous four seasons with Atlanta, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 15.7 points on 39.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc (7.5 3PA).

Bogdanovic has finished in the top-6 in Sixth Man of the Year voting in two of the last three seasons, including No. 5 last season. Perhaps he can rehabilitate in Los Angeles, who desperately needs more long-range threats.

According to Spotrac, in the second season of a frontloaded four-year, $68 million extension with over $17 million on the books this season. He owns a $16 million club option in 2026-27, which only allocates for 9.4 percent of that season’s projected cap.
