I have never been a big fan of Draymond Green. I don’t mind loud-mouth players as long as they can back it up. Draymond Green has always hidden behind the success of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant.
In his first season without them, he was practically nonexistent for the Warriors. However, when I heard he was going to be on NBA on TNT as an NBA Analyst, I became annoyed. But, he is proving that he is not that bad of an analyst. He has enough basketball analysis mixed with brashness and charisma to be quite entertaining.
Some NBA “analysts” are there for ratings. They say the most outlandish things to spark up rage for ratings. Then, some have excellent basketball analysis, but they’re dull. Draymond Green is a healthy mix of both. He has enough personality and basketball knowledge to be one of the great basketball analysts. Often deemed as a defensive genius, his perspective can be great for people that want NBA analysts to talk, you know, actual ball.
I may not like Draymond Green on the basketball court, but I can appreciate his analysis and perspective when he is in the studio. He still has a bit to go before that point. He is only 30, and I can see him riding off the success of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson for at least a few more years. I can’t see him retiring before 35, but we will see.
