Hunter Renfrow’s Path To Fantasy Stardom
Would it really be a “Who The Fuck Is That Guy” if it didn’t feature a short white slot receiver? “Who The Fuck Is That Guy” is how we end every episode of the Vendetta Sports Fantasy Show. Today, we’re looking at another short white slot receiver that can rise to fantasy stardom in Hunter Renfrow. Renfrow plays for the newly relocated Las Vegas Raiders.
Background Information
Hunter Renfrow played his college football at Clemson, however he never had a massive year that put him on the map. In terms of yards he was consistent, gaining between 490 and 605 receiving yards every year he was at Clemson. Renfrow didn’t shine in the touchdown department either, only having 15 career receiving touchdowns. He also ran a 4.59 40-yard dash at the combine, not the crazy speed other wide receivers from this segment have but still respectable. Renfrow may not have all the measurables but that won’t stop him from producing for your fantasy team.
NFL Production
Hunter Renfrow was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 5th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Renfrow had a productive rookie year for the Raiders as they were trying to patch the hole left from the Antonio Brown, “situation.” Renfrow took over the slot role and caught 49 passes for 605 yards and 4 touchdowns as a rookie. Now Renfrow has a year of experience in the system and a year of building chemistry with Derek Carr. All signs are pointing towards an improvement in his second season.
Path To Playing Time
The lack of Antonio Brown is a blessing for Hunter Renfrow as he will remain in the slot and as the third wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders. If Henry Ruggs can’t fulfill the number 2 duties it is entirely possible that Renfrow could claim the number two wide receiver spot. At the very least, Hunter Renfrow will be a starting slot receiver in the NFL.
