Carson Beck Undergoes UCL Surgery, Ruled Out For Remainder Of College Football Playoff

If Georgia wants to win a National Title, they’re going to have to do it without their starting quarterback. We all knew the moment we saw this play, it sure looked like what happened to Brock Purdy in the NFC Title game against the Eagles roughly two years ago. It turns out, it’s the same exact injury Carson Beck suffered.

Beck, 23, has likely played his final game for Georgia and has since been ruled out for the rest of the College Football Playoff after suffering the elbow injury in the SEC Title Game.

Dawg Nation has done a great job covering this. They had the news including a statement from the football program about the next steps in Beck’s recovery.

“ATHENS — Carson Beck’s 2024 season has come to an end, as Georgia football officially announced that Beck had successful surgery to repair an elbow injury and would miss the remainder of the 2024 season.”

“Georgia put out an official statement announcing the news.”

“Georgia quarterback Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca,” the statement read. ” A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025.”

Can Carson Beck Lead Georgia To A Three-Peat?

If the Dawgs want to win the natty, they’re going to have to do it with Gunner Stockton leading the way. Stockton isn’t nearly the thrower of the football that Beck is but he does have plus mobility. It’s safe to say that Georgia will need the rest of their team to raise their level of play.

They play Notre Dame next up in the playoff after receiving a bye for winning the SEC.
