Celtics Sideline Reporter Abby Chin Laid Off

Abby Chin, the sideline reporter for the Boston Celtics of the NBA, has been laid off. Chin recently took to Twitter to say the following in a string of tweets:

THANK YOU EVERYONE for all of the love and support! I truly can’t describe how much it means to me. You are giving me so much light during this difficult week. I will cherish it always!

But, this isn’t goodbye just yet. When I received the news, I was offered the choice to finish out the season and I’m taking it! I’m not ready for this incredible ride to be over. I’ll see you tonight. Go #Celtics!

Abby Chin began her sideline career with the Boston Celtics in the 2013-2014 NBA season. This is not the last that we will see of her in 2020, as she said that she is choosing to finish the 2020 season as the Celtics Reporter.

The Boston Celtics stand at 45-23, currently holding the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference. They have 4 games remaining before the playoffs start, so these will be Abby Chin’s final 4 regular season games as the Celtics sideline reporter. It’s an odd time for her seven year career as the Celtics sideline reporter to end, but that’s the way it is. Boston Celtics fans, she’s your sideline reporter for at least 8 more games. As for the Boston Celtics and seeding, the best they can hope for is to land the 2 seed if they win out and the Toronto Raptors lose out.
