We can do better. Those are my thoughts.
As Garrett mentioned in his post, we had a meeting and one idea I had for him was to come up with his own personalized grading scale. This isn’t meant to dump on Garrett. It’s a fine rough draft. I just think we can do way better than this.
On the surface it’s fine. It’s no better or worse than the other grading scales that are out there. I just view them as random made up numbers of nothing that doesn’t actually tell you anything.
What is the difference between a 6.9 and a 7.1? Nobody knows other than made up draft positioning that doesn’t tell you future performance. It’s another way to contribute to the lies of misinformation that you can’t escape in the NFL Draft realm. How does one differentiate between those two numbers and how does one actually come to the conclusion of that made up number?
Let’s just call it a rough draft. The good news is Garrett’s grading scale, while needing to be revised, is already better than what that dope Lance Zierlein pretends to do so that’s good.
I don’t have a timeline for this but let’s call it a Summer project for Trey. It will be done before the next football season and I’ll find a day or two that works to dedicate time to it. We’re going to overhaul this grading scale and make one that’s so good that NFL teams are idiotic if they don’t use it.
I’ll have that for you before football season. That’s a promise.
