JK Dobbins, Chargers Agree To One-Year Deal

The Los Angeles Chargers and JK Dobbins have agreed to a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

JK Dobbins, 25, will join the Chargers running back room after Austin Ekeler left to sign with the Washington Commanders.

Dobbins will join the team after spending the past four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens don’t have to worry too much about Dobbins’ departure, as they had already signed former Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry.

In 24 games with the Ravens, Dobbins ran for 1347 yards and ran for 12 touchdowns. He also had 27 receptions for 177 receiving yards and had a single reception TD.

Dobbins has had multiple season-ending injuries throughout his career so far. In his second season in the league, he tore his ACL in the final preseason game before the start of the regular season.

In his most recent season with the Ravens, Dobbins suffered a torn achilles in the first week against the Houston Texans. The former Ohio State running back has yet to play a full season in his NFL career so far.

While Dobbins may not be the starting back or be playing every game given his injury history, he could be a good backup option. At his best, Dobbins ran for 805 yards and had nine rushing touchdowns in his rookie season with the Ravens.

The running back is just 25 years old and has a lot more to prove, it is just a matter of his body can hold up.

Dobbins will join Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers in his return to the NFL, after winning the National Championship with the University of Michigan.
