Kris Jenkins 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Michigan is putting so many talented players in the 2024 NFL Draft pool. Defensive lineman Kris Jenkins is just one of those players coming off a championship season. Let’s get on with it. Here is your Kris Jenkins 2024 NFL Draft Profile!

Just a good football player. That’s the long and short of it. Maybe won’t totally pop off the screen and blow you away but this guy just gets the job done. Was part of a Michigan defensive line that ranked 6th in stopping the run last year. Jenkins just translates to the perfect three technique at the NFL level and those guys just don’t grow on trees.

Jenkins comes from NFL bloodlines. If his name looks familiar, it’s because his father has the same name. You know, the same Kris Jenkins who was a multiple-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro player with the Panthers. They basically look the same too physically.

He totally blew me away at the Combine. The redshirt junior from Olney, Maryland checks in at 6-foot-3, 299, with 34 inch arms. The 4.91 time at the 40 is more than fine for a guy that size. What’s more impressive is the 1.7 10-yard time. All of his pure movement skill stuff was off the charts good. Quick footed and explodes short area. Also ripped out 32 bench press reps. Can tell he’s well trained and works hard.

Good play strength and fires off the ball. Really all he needs to work on is becoming a more dynamic pass rusher. Not exactly an easy thing to do and had just 2.5 sacks this past year. But it’s still something that can be worked on. He has the tools to get better at it. When that happens, Jenkins should become a force at the NFL level.

I have a late first / early second round grade on Kris Jenkins. I love the player and believe he will be a plug and play starter at the NFL level. Think he will become a similar development story as Justin Madubuike. Once he starts wrecking the passing game, he’s going to be a valuable piece along any defensive line.
